SALISBURY, N.C. -- A youth leader in Rowan County faces felony charges for alleged inappropriate behavior with underage victims.
Detectives say Torrey Morgan committed sex crimes against several female teenagers while working at High Rock Community Church on Bringle Ferry Road.
Authorities say the victims were members of the church, and the allegations involved sexual activity and advances by the 36-year-old.
He’s charged with disseminating harmful material to a minor, indecent liberties with a child and second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. More charges are possible.
Police say the allegations involve several victims, and advised there may be more who have not yet come forward.
A pastor with the church tells NBC Charlotte Morgan, accompanied by a Senior Pastor, apologized to 10 families of the women involved.
Morgan was booked into the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
