GREAT FALLS, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities are still looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 43-year-old Chester County man as he walked home along a highway last weekend.
Chester County Deputy Coroner Tommy Williams says London Coleman of Great Falls died at the scene from head injuries. A driver found his body about 6:30 a.m. Saturday and called 911. Authorities believe Coleman was hit about 4 a.m. on Old Richburg Road (SC 99) near Sweat McCullough Road.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the driver who hit him could be charged with felony hit-and-run.
Troopers say Coleman was walking home and was just a few hundred feet away when he was struck.
Officials said Tuesday they are looking for a blue Nissan that may have been involved in the collision.
Coleman's long-time girlfriend Monica Eagle says he leaves behind nine children. They have seven children together, ages 3 to 13.
If you have any information that may help lead to an arrest you are asked to call South Carolina Highway Patrol at 803-385-3107.
