CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A SWAT team was called to help arrest an east Charlotte robbery suspect on Monday morning.

Officers were trying to arrest Shakeem Dickens, 20, at a home in the 5900 block of Farm Pond Lane near Albemarle Road around 8:15 a.m. Monday.  Dickens barricaded himself in the home when police arrived, according to officials.

Dickens was eventually taken into custody around 9:30 a.m. with the help of the SWAT team, and no one was injured.

He has been transported to police headquarters in uptown where he will be charged related to the robberies.
