GRANITE FALLS, N.C. -- The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office says a repeat pill dealer was arrested Friday night, and is now facing a laundry list of charges.
Benny Dale Laney, Sr., 45, of Lenoir, is charged with two counts of felony trafficking in opiates, felony maintain a vehicle to keep or store a controlled substance, misdemeanor driving while license revoked, resist, obstruct, or delay a public officer and simple possession of Alprazolam.
Authorities say Narcotics agents familiar with Laney, who knew he didn't have a driver's license, spotted him driving on Highway 321-A and pulled him over.
The Sheriff's Office says Laney resisted arrest, leading to a scuffle with officers. A search of Laney's car turned up 54 Oxycodone and four Alprazolam. Additionally, authorities seized $188 in cash and Laney's Lexus.
Officials say Laney was out on bond on a previous drug-related charge at the time of his arrest.
