WILLIAMSTON, N.C. -- The Martin County Sheriff's Office has charged a man in connection with death of a woman whose body was found decomposing in the house she shared with the arrestee.

Randall Edward Johnson, 44, of Williamston, North Carolina, was arrested on Saturday and charged with felony concealing a death from law enforcement.

Last week, officials responded to a home for a call of a possible DOA, dead on arrival. Once on the scene, the body of Carla Jean Baggett, who authorities say at that time, had been deceased for several days, was found in the home she shared with Johnson.

Authorities say Johnson had shared the bedroom with the deceased for three days before authorities took her body from the home.

The cause of Baggett's death is pending at this point, and authorities say there is no evidence of foul play.

Johnson's bond was set at $100,000.

The investigation continues.
