A Statesville man was arrested after investigators say they found 10 marijuana plants growing inside an outbuilding.
Gregory Lee Lapish, 34, faces multiple charges, including manufacturing and possession of marijuana, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday. Records show he has bonded out of jail.
The sheriff’s office said investigators went to Lapish’s home on Nixon Road in Statesville after receiving a report that marijuana was being grown there. Officers arriving at the home confronted Lapish, who admitted he had plants growing in an outbuilding, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies searching the property found 10 marijuana plants in an outbuilding behind the residence. Officers also found items apparently used to help grow the plants, along with a .45 caliber pistol, the sheriff’s office said.
