ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A Rock Hill college student is facing serious charges after police say she stabbed another student during a fight.

It happened Friday afternoon at Clinton College, the assault occurred  on the outside of the female dormitory, investigators said.

According to police, the verbal argument was over stolen items from one of the dorm rooms.  Police said Jasmine Smith, 19, of Marietta Georgia, pulled out a knife and stabbed the 19-year-old victim in the right arm.

Friends transported the victim to Piedmont Medical Center, where the victim underwent surgery to repair the damage to her arm – she is in stable condition.

Smith later turned herself in, four hours later – and is facing an attempted murder charge.  Her bond was set at 90,000.
