LENIOR, N.C. – Police have arrested a man they say caused the Days Inn Hotel to be evacuated Saturday.

Police were called out to 206 Blowing Rock Boulevard around 8:00 a.m. Saturday for a fight.

Authorities said the caller told dispatchers the suspect, Ralph Garland Prestwood,  had a gun.

Law enforcement evacuated the hotel, but Prestwood was nowhere to be found. Officials believe he left prior to them arriving.

He was arrested Monday in the parking lot of Melanie's Hometown Pharmacy.  His bond was set to $5,000.

He's facing a slew of charges including discharging a weapon in the city limits and assault with a deadly weapon.
