CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two employees who worked at the sweepstakes business on East Woodlawn Road were arrested and charged Friday.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the business at 250 East Woodlawn Road failed to comply with a written notice from the District Attorney’s office.

According to officials the business was violating NC gambling and electronic sweepstakes laws.  A search warrant aided officials in seizing 39 electronic sweepstakes gaming machines, $4,400 in currency, marijuana, and a firearm.

Police said the two employees, Achille Eddie Adair and Jeremiah Scott Monroe, were arrested and charged with narcotics possession.

The investigation continues, and additional criminal charges are pending, police said.
