TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. -- The Iredell County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Taylorsville man accused of stealing a debit card and withdrawing funds.

Authorities say 37-year-old Auburn Benson Coffey, Jr. stole a debit card from a business in Statesville and used it to withdraw cash from an ATM in Wilkesboro.

The victim told authorities that Coffey confessed to stealing the debit card and withdrawing the funds.

Detectives arrested Coffey on Friday and charged with with financial transaction card theft. He was booked in to the Alexander County Jail under a $2,500 bond.

The Wilkesboro Police Department was contacted in regards to alleged crimes within their jurisdiction, and officials say more charges are possible.
