IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- An Iredell County teacher who was facing a murder charge is free on bond.
Investigators say Dawn Kavanaugh stabbed Ronald Ketchum last month. Kavanaugh says it was self defense.
She taught sixth grade at Lakeshore Middle School and is a former “Teacher of the Year.
Last week, a judge set bond at $200,000
Kavanaugh bonded out of jail on Thursday.
