Some Alabama teachers issued panic buttons in case of emergency.

One school district has given teachers at one elementary school the devices that can be worn around their necks.

When the button is pushed, blue lights go off throughout the school beginning a lockdown.

The school also has an armed officer in place full time.

Orange Beach Elementary and others across the nation are beefing up security in the wake of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.
