An Oregon teen is facing charges for a hit and run after a Facebook post this past weekend.

But, he says it was all just a misunderstanding.

“Yeah, sure, I shouldn't have posted that. I kind of regret it, but it just got blown out of proportion. But I don't know,” he said.

In the Facebook post he said, “Driving drunk? Classic, but to whoever's vehicle I hit I am sorry".

More than one friend took the post seriously and contacted the police.

A neighbor says it was her car that was hit.
He messaged my husband on Facebook and said, “I'm sorry about what happened. It was a really idiot thing to do, and left a number but we haven't called him yet,” the woman said.

The teen insists he wasn't driving drunk, but that the road was icy.

Police say by the time they caught up with him, there was no way to find evidence of DUI.
