KANAPOLIS, N.C. -- Kanapolis police are investigating a shooting that left a teen dead on Monday.
Police said Daniel Lee Cooper, 17, was shot in the neck in the 400 block of Snow Street around 3 p.m. Monday. Cooper was transported to Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast where he later died from his injuries.
Police said Cooper was found in a car on West 22nd Street after the driver fled the shooting scene. Police are still trying to piece together the shooting and a motive for the crime.
Authorities said they're looking for two black men that could have been involved in the crime.
The first suspect is in his early 20's, about six-feet tall and weighs around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a baggy red t-shirt with a black design on it and dark jean shorts.
The second suspect is in his mid-20's about six-feet tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.
