BUFFALO, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say two teens have been charged with vandalizing a Union County church by tearing up Bibles and spray-painting racist and satanic graffiti on the walls.
Sheriff David Taylor said a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy were arrested Wednesday. They have been charged as juveniles with malicious injury to a place of worship and second-degree burglary.
Taylor says the teens didn't give a reason for vandalizing Buffalo Methodist Church last month.
The sheriff says the racist graffiti led investigators to see if the crime was related in any way to the killing of a sex offender and his wife by two white supremacists, but they found no link.
