YORK COUNTY, S.C. -- Thieves strike another York County neighborhood overnight.

This time they targeted vehicles parked in the Woodlands Subdivision near Indian Hook Elementary School.

The York County Sheriff's Department received eight reports from residents living on Denali Way.

Many found out what had happened just before getting in their cars before work.

Brian Drawdy says he was about to take his son to daycare when he realized someone had been in his truck.  He says he usually locks up his truck, but it happened the one night he did not.

"Last night we got home a little late, we have a 5-year-old, so we were in a rush with bath time and ready for bed. I meant to come back out and hit the little clicker, obviously I didn't," he said.

This is the third time since Mary 3 neighborhoods have been targeted in the county.

Last week, authorities took 22 reports of similar auto breaking and entering in the Channing Park Subdivision, several miles from where thieves struck overnight.

Ten incidents came from Clover residents living in the Vanderlakes and Pines at the Campbell Crossing neighborhoods.

"In each case, it seems like they are going down the road, trying on the door handle, if it doesn't open, move-on," said Trent Faris, spokesperson for the York County Sheriff's Department.

He says investigators are looking to see if the recent rash, totaling 41 vehicles, are connected.

Traci Via says deputies pounded on her door Thursday morning to tell her she has fallen victim to the thieves.

"This is the third time," she said.

The thieves took her GPS and satellite radio.  She now finds herself replacing items stolen when her car was hit on prior occasions.

She says she will make sure her car alarm is on, and will check every night to make sure her car door is locked.
