STANLEY, N.C. -- A phone call to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Drug Tip Line led to the bust of a marijuana growing-operation in Stanley.

On Tuesday morning, narcotics investigators executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 1300 block of Dartwood Lane. The warrant was obtained after investigators followed up on a tip to the drug line.

Once inside the residence, authorities located and seized the hydroponic grow operation, which included buckets, water pumps, grow lights, chemicals and nutrients, as well as two fully-grown marijuana plants.

Carlton John Williams, 30, was arrested at the residence and charged with one felony count each of manufacturing a controlled substance Schedule VI and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance. Williams has since been released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

If you have information on drug or criminal activity, you're encouraged to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Drug Tip Line at (704) 736-8606.
