ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – Authorities say they’ve arrested a man in connection to trafficking opium.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said a traffic stop Thursday on Webb Road led to 1,000 dosages of controlled substances and $17,000 in cash.
Investigators arrested and charged Ricky Ray Shackleford, 51, of Fox Run Road in Salisbury. He was arrested on multiple counts of level III opium trafficking.
In a press release sent to media, officers said they found “a large quantity of prescription pain medication and United States currency were found in his possession during the traffic stop.”
Shackleford was placed under a $50,000 secured bond at the Rowan County Detention Center.
