STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Two bomb threats within two days prompted investigations at a Statesville Walmart this week.

Police first reponsded to the store in the 1100 block of Crossroads Drive around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

An employee told police someone called in the threat. The person told the employee he wanted $1,000 on two pre-paid cards, and the numbers to each card. He also said he placed a bomb in the store, according to police.

The employee told detectives the man seemed to have trouble with English and spoke with a broken accent. The store was then evacuated.

Detectives were not able to find a threat.

A caller made the same threat with similar demands on Wednesday afternoon. Police have not found any threats.

Anyone with information should call police at 704-878-3406 or Iredell Crime Stoppers at 704-662-1340.
