MARSHVILLE, N.C. -- A high school student was arrested on campus Monday afternoon after officials reported finding him in possession of a loaded handgun and marijuana.
Stephon Clyburn, 18, is charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors for possession of a stolen firearm, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm on school campus, carry a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities say Forest Hills High School administrators contacted the Union County Sheriff's Office to assist the school resource officer in the search of a student.
A Union County Deputy accompanied the staff as they questioned Clyburn and took him in to custody for possession of marijuana. Then, a search of his person and backpack ensued. Officials say the search turned-up an additional bag of marijuana and a loaded, stolen handgun.
Clyburn's bond was set at $2,500.
