WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -- A Brevard, N.C., woman faces charges of felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle in the hit-and-run death last week of bicycle rider in Wilmington.
The 23-year-old college student had her first appearance in court on Monday.
Judith Nemeth is charged in the death of 27-year-old Zachary Paul Tyler. He was hit by a vehicle as he rode his bike home from work last Thursday night.
Authorities found Nemeth's damaged car Friday and she turned herself in Saturday. She is free on $25,000 bond but a judge revoked her license Monday.
Nemeth's attorney says it's his client's first offense and she wants to meet and speak with the victim's family.
