GARNER, N.C. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating after a woman was killed and her mother was injured in a drive-by shooting at a Garner apartment complex.
Police say the shooting happened just before 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
Authorities say 31-year-old Latoya McNeil died at the scene. Her mother, 48-year-old Angela Harding, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both women lived at the complex and were in the same vehicle arriving home when they were shot. Police say a young child was also in the car but wasn't hurt.
Investigators say they received a tip that two men were spotted running from the scene after the shots were fired. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
