CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte woman is recovering after being shot in the University area Friday night.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said it happened in front of the Dollar Tree on University City Boulevard.
Police say the 20- year-old female employee with the Dollar Tree was walking to her car when a suspect walked up to her and demanded money, then shot her. The bullet grazed her head.
The victim was transported to CMC-University with non-life threatening injuries. Police say the suspect fled on foot, so far no arrests have been made.
