Arrest made in Gaston County child pornography case

GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- Gaston County Police have charged 34-year-old Paul Stephen Hallman with six counts of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and seven counts of Third Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

As members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force, Gaston County Police investigators worked jointly with the Gastonia Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation on this case.

The ICAC task force program assists local and State law enforcement agencies with their investigative response to offenders who use the internet, online communication, or other computer technology to sexually exploit children. 

The investigation focused on the downloading and sharing of digital images.

Hallman was booked into the Gaston County Jail Monday evening on a one hundred and fifty thousand dollar bond. The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. W.M. Sampson at 704-866-3320 or Crimestoppers at 704-861-8000.
