DALLAS -- Police are investigating a homicide that happened in the Fordham Avenue community in Oak Cliff.
Investigators say a woman was found stabbed to death outside her home on the 3400 block of Kellogg Avenue early Wednesday morning.
According to neighbors, a boy walking to school first spotted the woman’s body on the side of her home. He rushed to alert adults.
Neighbor Michael Glaze was among those who called 911.
“It was a very frightening thing to see,” Glaze explained. “Someone getting stabbed so many times like that, close to your neighborhood, and close to where you live.”
A small group of the woman’s friends and members of the Church of Christ gathered in the yard of the home where the woman was killed. They say she had only been living in Dallas for three months and was planning to move to Eagle Pass on Wednesday.
According to friends, the victim left her job at the church about 10 p.m. Tuesday. Some people close to the woman suspect robbery may have been a motive.
“Their house done [sic] been broke in three of four times in the last three or four months,“ said Oscar Simon, who lives next door to the woman.
Police haven't yet identified the victim.
