Caldwell Co. apartment fire ruled arson

Caldwell County authorities are searching for the man they say intentionally set fire to an apartment building Thursday.

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. – Deputies in Caldwell County are searching for the man they say intentionally set fire to an apartment complex Thursday morning.

According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, emergency personnel responded to a reported fire on Oak Tree Lane in Sawmills Thursday morning. After firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, investigators determined the fire was a result of arson, police say.

Detectives identified Timothy Allan Harmon, 33, as the suspect in the case. Deputies have obtained warrants for his arrest on first-degree arson and first-degree kidnapping. Police say he fled the scene before emergency crews arrived.
