CMPD investigating north Charlotte homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is investigating a homicide that occurred north of uptown early Tuesday.

According to CMPD, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at a gas station in the 1500 block of North Tryon Street around 3:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from apparent trauma. He was taken to CMC where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The victim has not been identified by police.

Authorities say some sort of altercation broke out between the victim and the suspect. 

Detectives are canvassing the area for any potential witnesses to the incident.
