CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police in west Charlotte are investigating after shots were fired into a vehicle Friday afternoon.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of West Trade Street and Beatties Ford Road near Johnson C. Smith University. As a result of the investigation, JCSU was placed on lockdown.

Police say that shots were fired into a vehicle but no one was shot during the incident. CMPD has not made any arrests. According to a tweet sent by CMPD, two people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital with injuries that aren't considered life-threatening.
