CMPD: String of sexual assaults may be linked

Police are investigating seven burglary cases are that are "sexual in nature," according to a press release from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police are investigating seven burglary cases are that are "sexual in nature," according to a press release from Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

According to CMPD, the incident dates back to November 2016 and the seventh case being reported as recently as Thursday.

CMPD says detectives do not have enough information to confirm that all seven cases are related, but the suspect description in each case is similar. 

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s with a thin build. 

Below is the list of sexual assault incidents reported to CMPD:

  • November 29, 2016 - 4400 block of Lothar Ridge Lane
  • June 16, 2016 - 1900 block of Slater Ridge Drive
  • August 20, 2017 - 800 block of Swearngan Ridge Court
  • September 8, 2017 - 1300 block of Peach Park Lane
  • November 16, 2017 - 4500 block of Wynbrook Way
  • November 29, 2017 - 6000 block of Regal Estate Lane
  • November 30, 2017 - 4500 block of Wynbrook Way

Anyone with information on the suspect or the above incidents is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
