Carjacking victim shot in hand during struggle

KINGS MOUNTAIN, S.C. -- The victim of a car jacking incident told police he was shot in the hand while a man attempted to steal his car.

Kings Mountain Police responded to a call on the 100 block of N. Cansler Street Monday and found a man with a gunshot wound to his hand.

The man told police that a man approached his vehicle, pulled out a black handgun and demanded money. 

A struggle ensued between the suspect and victim when the gun went off, striking the victim in the hand, he told police. The suspect fled the scene in the victim's green Chrysler 300.

The victim was transported to the hospital.
