CMPD searching for driver who hit school bus with kids on board

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are searching for the driver of a car that struck a CMS school bus Wednesday that had children on board and fled the scene.

A 911 call came in around 5:39 a.m. saying a CMS school bus was hit by a black sedan on Nations Ford Road at Red Roof Drive. The sedan fled the scene, authorities said.

According to CMPD, there were seven children on board the bus at the time of the collission. No injuries were reported and minor damage to the school bus.

The suspect's vehicle was last seen traveling outbound on Nations Ford Road.
