Roads reopen after suspicious package found in east Charlotte neighborhood

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police told residents on Harri Ann Drive Tuesday morning to stay inside their homes for nearly three hours as they investigated a suspicious package.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Authorities gave an east Charlotte neighborhood an all-clear signal after a suspicious package was found on a sidewalk.

Residents on Harri Ann Drive were told to stay inside their homes Tuesday morning after a neighbor reported a suspicious item on the sidewalk. CMPD issued the warning around 8:30 a.m.

A bomb squad responded to the scene and after nearly three hours of investigation, CMPD announced the device has been rendered safe.
