CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is investigating a sexual assault and multiple peeping Tom incidents that took place in north Charlotte.
On Friday, CMPD responded to a call in the 1900 block of Slater Ridge Road in reference to a female who was sexually assaulted. Upon arrival, the victim told officers that she was sleeping inside her residence before being woken up by a male suspect fondling her. The victim told officers the suspect fled after she screamed.
The victim, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was terrified after the incident.
"He could have grabbed my legs and pulled me and I'd have no way to fight him off," she said.
Two weeks later, she said the suspect returned and used a knife to try and cut open her window screen.
"It's terrifying to know someone can come into your house and fondle you and then try it a second time," she said.
Less than two hours later, officers responded to Grass Run Court in reference to a peeping incident. A female victim told officers a male suspect was looking through one of the windows of her home.
On Thursday, another similar peeping incident took place in the 3800 block of Gold Nugget Court. A female told officers she saw a suspicious male in front of her house. A short time later, she found one of her outside chairs placed under a window to her residence.
In each of these cases, the suspect was described as a black male, between the ages of 25 to 30 years old, with a thin build and listed at around 6-feet in height.
Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call 704-334-1600 or 911.
