Silver Alert canceled for missing Cabarrus County man

UPDATE: The Silver Alert for Sam Colerider was canceled at the request of the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office. 

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. – A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Cabarrus County man.

The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating 75-year-old Sam Willis Colerider III.

Police say that Colerider was last seen at his home in Mount Pleasant and that he was possibly headed to Concord. He is described as a white male, approximately 5-foot-7, with blue eyes and short gray hair.Colerider was last seen at his home in Mount Pleasant and that he was possibly headed to Concord. He was last seen wearing a red and brown plaid long sleeve shirt, khaki pants, and black shoes. He drives a white 2010 Honda Accord with NC license plate ZRS-9072. Colerider is believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment, police say.
