Hickory man sentenced for sexually assaulting children

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. – A Hickory man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting two children in 2013.

Bradley Scott Adams, 37, was sentenced to an active prison term of 25-35 years by a Mecklenburg County judge Tuesday. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and enroll in satellite-based monitoring upon his release from prison.

According to court documents, Adams pleaded guilty to 15 counts of sexual offense with a child and eight counts of indecent liberties with a child for sexually assaulting two children during a six-month period in 2013.

One of the victims, identified as an 11-year-old, testified that Adams gave them pills that caused drowsiness and sexually assaulted them each day over a seven-day period.

The second victim, who police say is a 6-year-old, told police that Adams went into a bedroom and sexually assaulted them while they slept.
