Homeowner shoots intruder during south Charlotte break-in, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is investigating after one person was shot during an apparent home invasion in south Charlotte.

According to CMPD, officers responded to a breaking and entering call in the 10700 block of Osprey Drive just after 9:30 Friday night. Police say their preliminary investigation indicates that the homeowner fired shots during the break-in and possibly struck one of the suspects.

MEDIC said that one person was taken to CMC with life-threatening injuries.
