IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- Two men are recovering from injuries sustained by a fight that led to stab wounds from a BBQ fork.
Iredell County Deputies were dispatched to 154 Rowan Road in regards to a reported stabbing. When they arrived, deputies say they found Thomas (Tommy) Henry Freeland, 46, suffering from multiple stab wounds inflicted by a BBQ fork. Michael (Mo) Dwayne England, 51, was also involved and had suffered facial injuries.
According to witnesses, England had thrown a brick into the windshield of Freeland's parked Cadillac.
When Freeland approached England, threats were exchanged and they decided to meet in the roadway infront of 154 Rowan Road to settle their disputes physically, witnesses say.
When a fight broke out between the two men, England used a BBQ fork to stab Freeland, deputies say.
Both men were transported to a nearby hospital. Once their injuries were cleared, they were taken to the Iredell County Detention Center.
England was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. Freeland was charged with assault inflicting series injury as well as a probation violation.
