Man charged in Union County break-in

MARSHVILLE, N.C. – Union County deputies arrested a man after he smashed the rear window of a Marshville woman's home in an attempt to steal several items Monday. 

According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, a woman called 911 around 9:30 a.m. Monday, saying a man was breaking into her home. When deputies arrived at the home, they found 35-year-old Chadrick Antwan Owens, of Wadesboro, inside the home.

Investigators say that Owens was in the process of stealing several items from the home, including prescription medication, jewelry, and firearms.

Deputies arrested Owens and charged him with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
