Man found shot to death on The Plaza, police say

CMPD is investigating after a man was found shot to death in northeast Charlotte Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Detectives with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have charged a man after a person was found shot to death in northeast Charlotte Tuesday night. 

Police say that officers responded to a welfare call in the 6600 block of The Plaza around 11 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Christian Alfredo Soto Mojica, 22, lying on the ride of the road suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic pronounced the victim dead on the scene. CMPD said the family has been notified of his death.

Detectives have charged Montdrekus Lamont Moore, 23, with murder in the case. CMPD's VCAT unit served a warrant for Moore's arrested Wednesday morning and apprehended him without incident.
