Man on the run, woman arrested in connection with first-degree kidnapping

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. -- Two people are accused of first-degree kidnapping in Morganton, according to the Burke County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a possible kidnapping call at the Timmermill Mobile Home Park on U.S. 18/64 in Morganton Monday. After speaking with witnesses and retrieving video footage, deputies issued arrest warrants were for two people may be in connection to the kidnapping of Taylor Kirby.

On Tuesday, Lenoir Police took 29-year-old Krisie Parrish into custody for outstanding warrants. Parrish is being charged with first-degree kidnapping and simple assault. She was issued with a $125,000 secured bond, according to deputies.

The second suspect, 20-year-old Marcus Whisnant is wanted for first-degree kidnapping. Whisnant is listed at 5-foot-11 and weighs about 185 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Whisnant or his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 828-433-3333.
