Man shot during domestic dispute in Gastonia

GASTONIA, N.C. -- The Gastonia Police Department is investigating a domestic incident that escalated to a shooting.

Just before midnight Monday, Gastonia Police responded to the 900 block of Summer Drive.

Police say a domestic situation turned dangerous when 36-year-old Artemus Vaughn Grice got into a verbal and physical argument with the suspect, who then shot Grice.

Police say Grice remains hospitalized at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

Detectives are meeting with the District Attorney's Office to determine if charges will be filed.
