Man shot, killed during home invasion, police say

CMPD is investigating after a man was found shot to death inside a west Charlotte home Sunday night.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is investigating after a man was found shot to death inside a west Charlotte home Sunday night.

Just before 11 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 6200 block of Rock Lake Drive. When officers arrived, they found 37-year-old Talea Antawun Craig suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medic pronounced Craig dead on the scene.

Detectives say their initial investigation indicates that the suspects forced entry into the home and confronted Craig before fatally shooting him.
