A man was killed in a drive-by shooting in Gastonia.

GASTONIA, N.C. -- One person died in the hospital after a shooting in Gaston County Tuesday afternoon.

According to Gastonia Police Department, the shooting occurred on the 700 block of Miller Street around 1:30 p.m.

One victim, identified as 38-year-old Juan Monterio Floyd, of Gastonia, was transported to CaroMont Regional Medical Center where he later passed away, officials say.

Gastonia Police say they have not made any arrests but are investigating the incident.

"He'd just walked outside and we heard like five gunshots and we come to the door and he was laying on the ground shaking and a blue Crown Vic with tinted windows and a silver Kia were speeding off up the road," said Floyd's aunt, Davina Corry.

"It just hurts so bad because he had nothing to do with nothing," Corry said. "He just walked outside and got shot."
