One shot in leg at a north Charlotte Budget Inn

Police say a man was shot in the leg outside a motel.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after one man was shot early Thursday morning at a Budget Inn in north Charlotte.

The shooting occurred around 3:55 a.m. in the parking lot of the motel located on 4330 Old Interstate Road.

According to police, the man got into an altercation with several other subjects. One of the other subjects shot and fired, shooting the victim in the leg.

The injury was not life-threatening and he is expected to recover, police say. Medic transported him to CMC around 4:17 a.m.
