Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after a man shot in west Charlotte last week died Friday.

According to CMPD, officers responded to a shooting in the 2200 block of West Boulevard on Saturday, November 5. When officers arrived, they found Gregory Brown, 19, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to CMC with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

Investigators have identified 22-year-old Joshua Welch as the suspect in the shooting. Police say that Brown and Welch knew each other and the shooting was not random.
