Police: Gun, marijuana seized from Rock Hill home

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Police say they found 2 pounds of marijuana during a Rock Hill traffic stop.

They pulled over Rafael Renta on Ebenezer Road around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers with the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit and the U.S. Postal Inspector's Office has been investigating Renta. Officers say they purchased marijuana from him in the past.

Investigators also searched Renta's home on Cedar Grove Lane Wednesday. Officers say they found marijuana hash oil being made on a hot plate, and another suspect, 20-year-old James Stafford, applying a tattoo to a teenager. Stafford allegedly also supplied marijuana to the 16 year old before giving him the tattoo.

Officers seized 14 grams of hash oil, 175 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash and a stolen pistol, according to authorities. The drugs have a value of about $8,000.

Police arrested both suspects and a third roommate, Charles Mobley.

The house is within a half-mile of Sullivan Middle Schools.

The investigation resulted in 20 total charges.
