Police investigating triple shooting in Albemarle

ALBEMARLE, N.C. – Police in Albemarle are asking for the public’s help identifying the person responsible for shooting three people, including a child, Friday.

According to Albemarle Police, officers responded to a reported shooting near the area of Inger Street and South Bell Avenue around 10 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a juvenile lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. The victim was taken to the hospital by paramedics.

Investigators say that it was later learned that two additional people were shot during the incident. In a statement released Monday, Albemarle Police say one of the victims was hit in the thigh while the other was grazed in the leg.
