Police release IDs in murder-suicide in Huntersville

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- The Huntersville Police Department has ruled the deaths of two individuals last Wednesday as a murder-suicide. 

Around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, police were dispatched to the 12300 block of Cross Meadow Road to check on an individual after a tip came in stating that a caller's relative had not been responding to phone calls. 

Upon arrival, police discovered that a man and a woman were both suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Both individuals were pronounced dead on scene.

The female victim has been identified as Elisa Meryl Slutzky, 47. Slutzky was the resident of the address. The male victim has been identified as Kenneth Dale Henson, 55, of Hickory. Next of kin has been notified.

The Huntersville Police Department has been working closely with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office with this investigation. Based on the evidence found at the scene, the deaths of Slutzky and Henson have ruled a case of Murder-Suicide, according to police.

The findings of the Medical Examiner’s Office confirm those findings of the police department. The Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the cause of death for Slutzky to be murder and the cause of death for Henson to be suicide.          

The Huntersville Police Department is not currently looking for any suspects or persons of interest in this case.
