Police search for man who robbed Concord Waffle House

CONCORD, N.C. -- Concord police are looking for a man who robbed a Waffle House on Thursday night.

Police said the Waffle House on Concord Parkway South was robbed around 8 p.m.

An employee of the business had stepped out the back door and was approached by a heavy set black man with a handgun, according to police.

The suspect forced the employee to enter the back door with him. Once in the back of the building, the suspect demanded the cash from the register, police said.

One of the employees retrieved the money from the register and gave it to the suspect and he left, according to police.

The suspect was described a black man about 6-feet and around 300 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white zip up sweat shirt, blue jeans and a black ball cap.
