Police seek help in solving bike weekend slayings

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Myrtle Beach police are seeking the public's help in solving the slayings of three people who were killed last Memorial Day weekend during the Atlantic Beach Bikefest.

Police say the three were killed and a fourth person injured in a shooting that resulted from a large fight in Myrtle Beach. Authorities have said they think the killings may have been gang related.

The three victims were from the Summerville area and area media outlets report police plan a news conference there Wednesday to ask for the public's help in solving the slayings.

There was a rash of violence in communities outside Atlantic Beach during this year's bike festival.

The violence prompted Gov. Nikki Haley to call for an end to Bikefest which is held each Memorial Day weekend.
